02 Meet Ana
Hi, my name is Ana Estandarte and I founded AKE Interiors in 2023. I grew up in the Philippines with a father who designed and built houses. I developed a passion for interior design from an early age, being constantly surrounded by interior design magazines and construction projects. After 9 years of my career as a scientist in the UK working on multi-million-pound projects, I decided to follow my passion and qualified as an interior designer at the British Academy of Interior Design. Now, I am passionate about helping people realise their ideal space in a sustainable and ethical way.

I want to enhance people’s lives with good design - helping you create sustainable, healthy, and ethical spaces that reflect your personal style, meet your needs, and tell your story. I aim to support small, independent artisans and bring about positive social change with my designs.

My style is a blend of elegance and playfulness. I love designing contemporary spaces filled with character, often mixing the contemporary with traditional elements. By layering different textures, materials, colours, or forms, I create warm, rich interiors. Materiality and craftsmanship are at the heart of my designs, focusing on authenticity. I enjoy sourcing second-hand/antique and finely crafted, artisanal pieces and pieces that truly reflect my clients' unique narratives. I add a sense of fun to my designs through playful forms, unique artwork, and the dynamic interplay of organic curves with sharp, geometrical lines.
I travel a lot and take inspiration from my travels around the world and everyday spaces. I often mix different styles to create unique and rich spaces. I am inspired by the sophistication of Parisian interiors and the simplicity, comfort, and warmth of Scandinavian and Japanese interiors. I also take inspiration from other styles such as Brutalism, Modernism, Art Deco, Victorian, Georgian, the Arts and Crafts movement, Postmodernism, and Filipino design.
